Andrea Gillis first crashed onto the local music scene with the band Red Chord.Their live shows are legendary, and still have people talking. She then wowed fans and critics alike with the release of her solo cd ”Want Another” produced by Ed Valauskas and Andrea. A virtual who’s who of Boston rock is on that record.The Boston Globe says “She has been blessed with the pipes of Etta James and with the boozy swagger of Jim Morrison”.Gillis blends r&b, rock, pop and gospel. Backed by one of Boston’s most talented and diverse bands-Michelle Paulhus ( The Dents,The Marvels),Charles Hansen(Rhoss Phasor,Rock Bottom), Melissa Gibbs (Heavy Stud and Coffin Lids), and Bruce Caporal (Auto Interiors). The band’s recent single,”One Eye Open” is the title track. A catchy pop tune, with a b-side that showcases Gillis at her best on a re-working of the soul classic “Come What May.”
Andrea and her band continue to play to regularly packed house and win over new fans at their monthly live shows.
