The 104 Biggest 'BCN Bands of All Time
According to your votes this week here at WBCN.com, these are the 104 Biggest 'BCN Bands of All Time. Listen to 'BCN all 4th of July weekend to hear blocks from all of the bands you voted for. For the most part, we think your picks were great. But who should have made the list? Who should have been ranked higher/lower?
07/04/2008 12:42PM
What about?
Boston? And they turned cheesy pop by the end, but Motley Crue, No Doubt and Bon Jovi were big BCN bands.
07/04/2008 12:58PM
Ted/Dorchester
Not a bad list, but Manson should've been higher. Surprised Cheap Trick got that many votes.
07/04/2008 1:16PM
Chick votes
Blink 182 and Primus aren't where they should be
07/04/2008 1:58PM
Really people?
Creed? CREED?
07/04/2008 2:02PM
Adam
Nice to see some bands on here that deserve the votes. Cheap Trick is extremely underrated. Limp Bizkit should not be on this list AT ALL. But as a loyal WBCN listener for most of my life, I think this proves that BCN needs to get a little more diverse with their playlists. We've entered an age of Rock where one sub-genre of Rock does not rule. I think the average rock listener is incredibly diverse in what they listen to and once again, this list kinda proves it.

Agree with most but...
Audioslave and Manson behind Soul Asylum? Really?? Marley behind the Bostones??
07/04/2008 4:53PM
Bob Marley...
...behind COLDPLAY!?! *GAG*
07/04/2008 6:40PM
Really surprised
Soundgarden and Audioslave weren't higher
07/04/2008 11:24PM
Classics
Needes more classic bands, ex. The Who, Beatles.
07/05/2008 12:33AM
I remember Creed...
when i was 12.So why are they on here. Also I'm surprised J. Geils Band isnt on here, because if i remember correctly a Geils Band member was a 'BCN DJ for a few years. Loving the unexpected ones though,Cheap Trick,Elvis Costello... I love PJ but i didnt expect them at #1.
07/05/2008 12:40AM
WHAT!!!!!
No way could this even be close to the truth, led zep in . there was a lot more than the last 20years of rock.
07/05/2008 1:06AM
U2 sucks
U2 is the worst band ever.
07/05/2008 2:27AM
Tough Vote
Seeing that most BCN fans were not around the last 30 to 40 years, it's tough to vote on a top 104 having not heard the station for so many years. Or just plain forgetting what they use to play in the 70's & 80's
07/05/2008 8:52AM
Terrible
I listen to BCN for a looong time and I cant even name a song by 4 of the last 5.Pearl Jam? Come on. No J. Geils Band. Van Halen should be higher than the 2 songs they play from Sublime. And to top it off No KISS,the hottest band in the land.
07/05/2008 10:27AM
"Terrible?" "GAG"
To those bitching, did you vote? 4 of my 5 choices made it. (And no Coldplay wasn't one of them.) I'm not suprised some of the 70's and 80's bands didn't make it - BCN focuses more on new rock. I'm glad to see a few made it. I at least give WBCNprops for doing this weekend block format. It's too bad radio stations can't be as diverse as this all the time. It's good to hear this old stuff instead of just the 90's stuff all the time. Keep it up BCN!
07/05/2008 11:28AM
TOOL!!!!!!!!!
WTF! Tool is awesome! they should be higher than nine! sincerley, a 10 year old
07/05/2008 11:29AM
Green Day over Metalica
I dont think so
07/05/2008 1:37PM
not bad
A perfect circle should have been higher up, no doubt. same as tool, but at least it was in the top ten ( barely)
07/05/2008 2:31PM
Good List!!
The list is pretty good!! Diggin Oasis high up, The Black Crowes as well!! I agree Pearl Jam is got to be #1 Also, it would be nice if we could just make Coldplay go away!
07/05/2008 3:41PM
sucks
limp bizcut on it just makes it fail and QOTSA and white stripes should be higher
07/05/2008 5:11PM
U2 and Pearl Jam
Neither band deserves to be in the top 5. U2 doesn't deserve to be in the top 10. Pretty good list overall though. Nirvana and STP both definitely deserve their high rankings.
07/05/2008 7:29PM
The Verve? Really?
Yeah they had 1 good song in the '90's but does that warrant a place with the top BCN bands? Even at the bottom? I think not. Led Zepplin should have their spot, since they don't get played anymore, and Rage should be number 5! That's my rant...
