Green Day, Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains

AND SO IT BEGINS…Green Day kicked off their “21st Century Breakdown” tour last Friday in Seattle, and by all accounts, it was amazing.  Perhaps the most incredible moment came when Billie Joe Armstrong pulled a kid up on stage that played the ENTIRE 9 minute song “Jesus of Suburbia” on guitar.  Look for them July 20th at the Garden.

SCHMANCY!  Foo Fighters headlined a 4th of July show – at the WHITE HOUSE.  President Obama, military personnel and government officials all took in the show, which included a new song called “Wheels.”  Apparently, the new tune will be on a Foo greatest hits collection due out this fall.

STILL ALICE:  Layne is dead, but the sound is familiar.  So says Alice in Chains drummer Sean Kinney.  "I know people are blown away that we really sound like ourselves . . . but it's not really that big a stretch,” he says.  The band hits the Paradise with new lead singer William Duvall on September 7th.
