Contest Rules

WBCN Official Contest Rules
The following apply to all WBCN on-air, on-site and web-based contests and prizewinners.
Eligibility Restrictions:
a. WBCN contests are open to all WBCN listeners who reside in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maine, and are 18 years of age or older. Employees of WBCN, its licensee, CBS RADIO Corporation, its corporate parent Viacom Inc., their affiliated entities, affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Greater Boston metropolitan area and members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win.
b. Listeners are eligible to win a WBCN contest once every 30 days or if a prize is valued at $600 or more only once every six months. Only one winner per household is permitted in any contest.
Prizes:
a. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of WBCN, 83 Leo M. Birmingham Parkway Boston, MA 02135. The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed within sixty days of winning. Prizes not claimed with in 60 day become property of WBCN management. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it is with consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its arrival. WBCN is not responsible for any prizes or prize certificates that are lost, damaged or stolen in the mail.
b. All contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash. WBCN reserves the right to substitute a prize or prizes of equivalent or greater value.
Selection of Winners:
a. Decisions of WBCN management, with respect to WBCN contests, are final.
Conditions:
a. Payment of all federal, state, and local taxes is the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form 1099 or the equivalent.
b. By participating in the contest, the winner or winners agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and to sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize.
c. Contest winners (and their travel companions, if any) will be required to sign a liability release prior to acceptance of any prize valued at $600.00 or greater or which prize includes the provision of transportation, whether or not such transportation is provided by WBCN. Pursuant to the liability release, the winners will agree to hold WBCN, its corporate licensee, CBS RADIO Corporation, its parent corporation Viacom Inc, their affiliated companies and their officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or contest.
d. WBCN reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.
e. No purchase is necessary. The contest is void where prohibited.
f. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification, at the sole discretion of WBCN.
g. WBCN is not responsible for miss directed calls, hang-ups, emails that are misdirected telephone errors, fax machine errors or other errors in the connection of the call, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize.
